About a century ago, Mr Choo Cheong Chan left China and set foot in Singapore in search of better opportunities. He set up the first Kwong Cheong Thye in Jalan Sultan, manufacturing soya sauce for food suppliers.
From the manufacturing of Light and Dark Soya Sauce, Kwong Cheong Thye has expanded into the manufacturing and trading of other sauces such as Chilli Sauce, Hot Sweet & Sour Bean paste, Hoi Sin Sauce, Sesame Oil, Oyster Sauce, Plum Sauce, Orange Sauce and much more. Some of their products include Noodles, Mooncakes and "Yusheng" (Raw Fish Salad), which is a popular dish for Chinese families during the Lunar New Year period.
Kwong Cheong Thye has been continually innovating and improving. With a rich tradition and vast experience in food manufacturing in Singapore, its products are now used by over 90% of the top hotels and restaurants in Singapore and widely distributed in more than 10 countries.

Food Safety Policy
As Kwong Cheong Thye supplies to the top restaurants and hotels around the world, Food Safety is of utmost importance to us. Therefore, our management has established, implemented and is maintaining our Food Safety Policy diligently, and also continuously reviewing and upgrading the obejectives in our Food Safety Management System.
It is Kwong Cheong Thye's Food Safety Policy to:
- Manufacture and innovate quality and safe products for gourmet Asian cooking
- Adhere and work based on the strict regulations of SFA and ISO22000
- Work with customers and understand their requirements for Food Safety, and apply to our FSMS wherever applicable
- Ensure our Food Safety Team is constantly upgrading and updated to the newest ways to ensure Food Safety
- Create awareness and train all colleagues on the production floor on Food Safety
- Management will, too, ensure continual improvement and contribute to the effectiveness of the FSMS
